7W and 7D – Wednesday 17th September 2014
Your tasks today are to practice several exercises related to the digestive system. In your books, write the title: Summary of the Digestive System
Do the tasks in the following order:
1. http://interactivehuman.blogspot.com/2008/05/digestion-interactive-game-for-kids.html - choose baked beans first and then go back to the start and choose one other food of your choice. NB: the 'duodenum' and 'ilium' are parts of the small intestine. You do not need to learn this - just think about the small intestine when it refers to the duodenum and ilium. The 'colon' is the large intestine. What do you think another word for 'roughage' is? Write this down.
2. http://www.brainpop.com/games/buildabodydigestivesystem/ - drag and drop the organs in the correct place. Write down anything new you learn from the information that pops up on the right each time you drop an organ. You will need this information for the next task.
3. http://kidshealth.org/kid/htbw/_bfs_DSquizsource.html – see if you can get 10/10 in the quiz
4. http://www.anatomyarcade.com/games/jigsaws/DigestiveJigsaw/digestiveJigsaw.html - complete the jigsaw – press Start to begin and use the space bar to rotate pieces – this is quite hard
5. Take this quiz about Science myths (press Start) - see if you can get 10/10 - http://tinyurl.com/k4whfyy
If you finish, go to the Kenton Science Pinterest site and choose 1 or 2 articles or videos of your choice. Write down what you have learnt from each one.
